Getting to know basic dance steps and musical patterns that we meet with variations across Greece. Dances in the shape of a circle, which is the dominant figure in the Greek, traditional dance and the role of first dancer demonstrating his virtuosity.

BIO:

Born and raised in Athens. She is a graduate of the University of Athens, faculty of Physical Education and Sports Science and a certificated teacher of Music and Dance education (Carl Orff System- Moraitis School Athens). She has been a member of the Akropoditi Dancetheater since 2005. She came in first contact with the Greek traditional dance during her studies in Physical Education. She continued dancing and giving performances with the Panhellenik music and dance group called "Roots “and the dance group of the University of Athens. At the same time she attended courses of Greek traditional percussion with Michael Klapakis and Petros Kourtis. She has taught Greek dances in cultural associations, schools and Music Education seminars approaching dances in conjunction with Greek rhythmology and traditional song. Since 2002 she has lived and worked in Syros teaching physical education at secondary schools. Also works as a teacher of Creative Dance for children and as a personal trainer applying fitness programs. At the Dance Center Akropoditi she teaches Somatics.
